When we decided to create a distanced event for Art Island during quarantine, we wanted to bring an interactive element into an installation, without having physical contact be part of it. We built a projection where pre-sourced questions were displayed next to a phone number. Responses appeared in bubbles, floating around the screen for everyone to see. We named it the Nethersphere Thought Receiver.

For a second iteration of the project at a following event, we created a Q&A system. What would people want to ask the crowd? Two phone numbers are available to either add questions to the queue (displayed in the middle of the screen) or send in responses.

We created these installations using Touchdesigner, processing, and Twilio.
